By using FuelPlus, all fuel related airline data are integrated into one system. This results in the automation of all aspects of the fuel process.
Automation frees staff from routine work, such as manually entering invoices, and allows them to focus on core business activities. So every department involved in the fuel management process can benefit from FuelPlus:
Finance
The finance department may plan volume forecasts and fuel budgets based on reliable data. Changes in flight schedules are identified easily and this leads to a revised fuel forecast. By applying forward curves to exchange rates and fuel prices, Finance can estimate future costs and calculate a more accurate fuel forecast.
Purchasing
Since all contracts related to fuel and supply are captured in one central system, contract information is easily accessible for analyzing. Importing daily energy quotes and exchange rates ensures that accurate price information is available. Based on calculated quotation and exchange rate averages, the index-based contracts are updated automatically. This supports the Purchasing department in reducing the contract maintenance work. A notification mechanism informs about ending contracts.
Storage related information such as actual inventories and costs, in and out deliveries, inventory forecasts, and the difference between the physical and the booked balance is available and supports the Purchasing team.
Controlling
The Controlling department can compare planned fuel quantities and costs with the actual data, and then create variance reports that show reasons for any deviations. As detailed information on quantities and costs are available, the Controlling department can generate all kinds of reports. Route profitability calculations benefit from the fact that precise fuel consumption quantities and costs per actual flight event are available. You can also monitor whether tankering recommendations were accepted and what effect tankering decisions have.
Flight Operations
The Flight Operations department can use daily average prices to adjust tankering decisions. As a result of the latest market or operating events, Purchasing can define tankering exceptions. These exceptions allow you to overrule the tankering algorithm of the operational flight planning system.
Accounting
FuelPlus checks invoices automatically, so there is less manual work when checking discrepancies. Due to a complete automated check performed on all invoice items, overpayment is no longer possible. The generated postings are transferred to the accounting system; this process reduces the manual entry of fuel invoices.
Administration
Via automated interfaces, fuel messages and tickets can be imported from sources such as ACARS, IATA FMM, and FBOs. You need to capture paper documents only once; further processing can take place on electronic copies.
Subsidiaries
The subsidiaries of an airline can be handled within the same system without additional staff.
Management
Management can make decisions based on precise and up-to-date fuel information, as well as use automated updating to get the most current fuel, invoicing, billing, and planning information.
